How to Apply for Your
Instructor's Certificate and Authorization
Our application process is designed to ensure that all the Authorized Teachers listed in our On-line Directory are competent, active teachers of the Sounder Sleep System. Please work with us to achieve this goal!
Step 1. Complete the Teacher Training Program.
Our Teacher Training Program is given in two formats: three 3-day segments (nine days total), or one 3-day program and one 5-day program (eight days total). You can "mix and match"--take the required programs in any city, in any order. Once you've begun, you have up to one year to complete the course. Here's a list of Upcoming Programs.
Step 2. Become a Member of this web site.
To receive a certificate and be authorized to teach, you must be a current, paid member of this web site (soundersleep.com). When you join, you will be listed as a Teacher-in-Training in our On-line Directory and you'll receive a Personal Web Page. Once your application is accepted, your status will be changed automatically to Authorized Teacher.
Step 3. Complete 10 hours of practice teaching. Ten (10) hours of practice teaching are required prior to Authorization. Your practice teaching may be done in a private setting or in group classes.
Step 4. Submit the on-line application form.
This simple, on-line form gives us all the data we need to process your application and issue your certificate. Please fill in all applicable blanks!
Step 5. Pay your $25 application fee (plus shipping and handling).
The fee covers our cost of processing your application and, if it is accepted, printing, packing, and shipping your certificate. Your initial authorization is valid for three years. After your third year of teaching, you may choose to apply for re-authorization in perpetuity. Additional requirements apply.
Please Note: We cannot process your application until you've completed all five steps. Please be patient. Processing and mailing may take up to one month.
